2015 Yamaha FJ-09
Yamaha continues to expand its street bike line-up with the addition of a “touring” version of its popular FZ-09. Dubbed the FJ-09, the 2015 machine adds touring-friendly accommodations for riders seeking a fun and flexible middleweight motorcycle.
The FJ shares identical running gear as the FZ-09 including its water-cooled 847cc inline three-cylinder engine and twin-spar aluminum chassis. What separates the two models is the FJ’s tool-less and three-way adjustable windscreen, plastic hand guards and front body panels (with LED headlights) designed to increase comfort on the highway. The position of the handlebar can also be adjusted fore and aft (10mm) and the height of the seat can be set to either 33.3 inches or 33.9 inches.
The FJ-09 borrows the clean-looking LCD from the Super Tenere and adds traction control and ABS in addition to Yamaha’s signature D-Mode adjustable engine/throttle mapping. There’s also two 12-volt power plugs for charging electronic devices on the road. Yamaha also offers a line of accessories including lockable hard cases, heated grips and a more comfortable seat. The FJ is scheduled to arrive to U.S. dealers next month and will carry a price of $10,490.
