Podium Finish Wraps 24-Hour Tire Test for STI

Press Release | October 23, 2014

The JBC 24 Hours of Glen Helen is one of off-road racing’s most difficult tests of racers and their motorcycles. At this year’s event, held Oct. 11-12 at the Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, Calif., the 3 Brothers Racing KTM Team relied on STI Tech 2 MXC tires to earn third place in the Open Pro Class.

Racing a KTM 300XC two-stroke, the 3 Brothers squad included Nic Garvin, Nick Stover, Bryan Burch, and Kevin Barbosa. Congratulations to the team on earning this podium finish.

“The STI Tech 2 MXC tires worked great for us,” said Nic Garvin. “We changed one rear tire at about 8 hours, and the second one ran for 16 hours to the finish. The Tech 2s held up great and we could trust where the bike was going to go.”

The 24 Hours of Glen Helen race began at 10 a.m. Saturday, with racers running laps through the night on a rugged course until the 10 a.m. Sunday finish.

The 3 Brothers Racing KTM team chose STI’s Tech 2 MXC tires for their 4-ply carcass which gives these tires the right balance of durability and precise handling. An advanced rubber compound means the tires have an exceptionally low wear rate. The Tech 2’s intermediate tread pattern proved the perfect choice for the varied surfaces of the Glen Helen course, including everything from sand washes to pavement!

STI Tech 2 MXC tires, along with STI’s selection of durable tubes, are available at motorcycle dealers nationwide.
