MONTEREY, CA, JULY 11 – Fittingly, Kawasaki chose a racing backdrop to introduce its latest of the 30th anniversary Ninja models – the World Superbike round at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. After all, the Ninja line of sportbikes has a lineage that dates back to 1984 and the Ninja 900, and Laguna Seca was the place where Kawasaki introduced that model to a throng of international journalists.
Today they pulled the cover off the 2015 Ninja ZX-14R ABS – a special edition of Kawasaki’s king of sportbikes with only 300 of the limited-edition models to be sold.
The ZX-14R Limited Edition motorcycles will feature the exact same shade of Firecracker Red and Metallic Graystone paint as the 1984 Ninja 900 – and each of the 300 will be individually numbered. The newest Ninja will also get gold pinstriping, gold brake calipers, 30th anniversary logos on the fairing sides and a numbered badge on the gas tank.
The bikes will go on sale on July 15 at 9 a.m. Pacific time and a $1000 deposit at your local dealer will get you on the short list to purchase one. Orders will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis via a time and date stamp.
Kawasaki recently released anniversary editions of the Ninja ZX-10R and ZX-6R, featuring color schemes to celebrate the company’s success in the 2013 World Superbike Championship.
