Road racer Bobby Goodin succumbed to injuries sustained in a post-race crash after his run in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb yesterday. Goodin was 54 years old.
The Texan passed away after crashing his Triumph Daytona 675R right after completing his run up the famous mountain course. According to reports, Goodin lost control while trying to slow down in a gravel parking lot at the top of Pikes Peak. Reports state that he went airborne and landed in an area of rocks. He was taken via Flight for Life helicopter to Penrose Main Hospital in Colorado Springs where he was later pronounced dead.
Goodin is the first motorcycle racer to be killed at Pikes Peak since 1982.
