PRIMM, NV, MAY 3-4 – AMA District 37 and National Hare Scrambles racers headed out to Primm, Nevada, May 3-4, for round four of the Big 6 GP series, where they were welcomed by hot, wind-whipped conditions. Co-sanctioned by the AMA West Hare Scrambles series, the weekend’s race schedule also included round six of the championship. Despite the heat and relentless wind, the Shamrocks MC put on a memorable event with a winding and challenging course for racers.

Tatum Sik got things started by taking the overall win in race two, carding the Women’s class win ahead of defending champion Elizabeth Bash and Courtney Roewer.

There were no surprises in the Vet division on Saturday morning where Gordon Ward took top honors. Ward also dominated Sunday morning’s Senior class ahead of Paul Krause and David Glass.

It was FMF/RPM/Maxxis KTM rider Eric Yorba who took the big win of the weekend during the West Coast GP and West Hare Scrambles Pro race. Yorba worked his way into the lead on the second lap and never looked back while the battle raged on behind him between Justin Seeds and Jacob Argubright.

Seeds made a mistake that let factory Husqvarna’s Argubright by for second, but the Kawasaki rider went on to re-inherit the runner-up position when Argubright went down hard on the fast-paced truck course. Seeds ran in second place all the way to the finish followed by young Vaughn Wilk who rounded out the Pro podium.

In an effort to protect his bid for the West Hare Scrambles Championship, Argubright swatted away the tweeting birds and rode conservatively to a ninth-place finish.

In the Pro II class, Nic Garvin emerged the winner after Blayne Thompson was forced to retire early. Kevin Barbosa followed in second ahead of his 3 Brothers Racing teammate Nick Stover, who rounded out the Pro II podium.
