For Jacob Argubright and Husqvarna it was special win at the AMA/NHHA Hare & Hound National Championship at Lucerne Valley, California, April 27. For Argubright, it was his first win of the season and for Husqvarna it was its first win of the decade – and then some.

Argubright survived challenges by many racers along the way, but when all was said and done, Argubright, on the Charles Jirsa-tuned Bel-Ray/FMF/Moose Racing Husqvarna FC 450, crossed the finish line in first place on the motorcycle brand that used to rule the desert many years ago. It’s guessed that the last time a Husky won a National Hare & Hound was in the 1980s in the hands of either Dan Ashcraft or Dan Smith.

Ricky Brabec kept Argubright honest throughout the race and ended up taking second overall on his Kawasaki, followed by Beta’s Nick Burson, Yamaha rider Ryan Smith and Honda pilot Max Eddy

Kariya spends way too much time in the desert, but we’re glad he does as he’s the man who gets us our coverage of all things sandy.
