PARK HILLS, MISSOURI, MARCH 23 – Pennsylvania’s Nick Davis claimed the overall victory at the Flat River Grand Prix, held at the St. Joe State Park in Park Hills, Missouri, March 23. The race was also the opening round of the AMA East Hare Scrambles Series, as well as a round of the Missouri State Hare Scrambles Championship.

Shane Klimek was the early leader but couldn’t quite maintain the point position all the way to the end. Instead, Davis, on the Obermeyer Suzuki RM-Z450, worked his way through the pack to take the win. But it was close.

Stopping for fuel on the final lap allowed former hare scrambles champ Jed Haines to get within three seconds of the Suzuki rider. Haines, however, couldn’t catch the 19-year-old Davis and had to settle for second.

Klimek held on to finish third, making up the Flat River GP podium.
