Cycle News Staff | May 23, 2012

Although it initially looked as though rain had followed them to the first day of a two-day test at the Mugello Circuit in Italy, Ducati’s Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden found some sunshine mid-morning and ended up getting on track at 2 p.m. for a solid four hours of dry track time today.

Rossi ended up completing 55 laps with Hayden circulating 52 times as they began their work on various configurations of the chassis, engine and electronics. The weather forecasts for tomorrow’s final day are favorable, according to Ducati.
