Roczen and Stewart Rule San Diego Practice

The program was delayed at Qualcomm stadium due to the wet weather in San Diego, but practice sessions finally took place at 4:00 P.M. after leaving the track covered for as long as possible. Riders took to the slightly soggy track, which actually kicked up some dust between the puddles on the freshly uncovered dirt.

Red Bull KTM’s Ken Roczen dominated the Lites practice, looking very comfortable on the greasy and slippery track. He bested Kyle Cunningham and Cole Seely in the second practice session by nearly a second.

Josh Hansen struggled in practice and was clearly nursing his hand that he injured at Anaheim II. Hanny managed to squeak out one hot lap to get a top-ten qualifying position in practice.

James Stewart is looking all but untouchable in the 450 class after dominating practice by a second and a half over Ryan Villopoto in second, Justin Braytin, Trey Canard and Ryan Dungey rounded out the top-five.

The rain is currently on hold in San Diego but weather predictions say the skies will open up around 8:00 or 9:00 P.M. and deliver a thorough soaking to the Qualcomm Stadium track.
