Mammoth Mountian Motocross

| June 24, 2004

Today was practice day at the Mammoth Mountain motocross and there were many top name riders out on the course. Suzuki factory rider Sebastian Tortelli (103) was out gearing up for the weekend’s racing, as well as many of the country’s top off-road racers, including Ty Davis, Nathan Woods and Kurt Caselli – and all three looked fast on the Mammoth course. This weekend will be the first race back for Tortelli since he injured his knee last season.

The race this year is especially nostalgic due to the fact that there is a strong possibility that it will be the last one. However, no one is giving up yet and there is still a strong fight going on to keep the famous track open for years to come. Town meetings have been held this week and the U.S. Forest Service released their environmental impact study that they have compiled about the track – more on this is yet to come.
