Kawasaki Team Green’s David Pearson (pictured) edged out his cousin Russ Pearson to win round five of the AMA National Hare & Hound Championship Series in Jericho, Utah, May 8.

At one point, David held a commanding lead over Russ, on the Montclair Yamaha/Zip-Ty Racing YZ450F, but Russ made it close at the end after closing to within about 10 seconds of his KX500-mounted cousin by the time the checkered flag came out.

For David, it was his second win of the series.

Two of the series other top riders had little success in Jericho. Neither Kawasaki Team Green riders Brian Brown or Destry Abbott finished the race. Brown crashed out with a damaged bike, while Abbott dropped out with mechanical problems.
