Steve Hengeveld and Johnny Campbell, once again, combined efforts to win this year’s 36th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, November 21-22. For Campbell the win was his seventh straight, and for Hengeveld it was his fourth class win and second straight Baja victory. The Honda XR650 duo completed the 808-mile desert race in 15 hours, 39 minutes and 52 seconds, averaging 51.58 mph.

Second overall motorcycle went to the Chris Blais and Andy Grider team. Also riding a Honda XR650, Blair and Grider finished the race in 16 hours, 32 minutes and 44 seconds. Third overall went to the Class 40 winners, Chris Haines, Craig Adams, Paul Ostbo, Jack Johnson and Rich Binckley. The team was also Honda XR650-mounted.

Finishing fourth overall was the Class 30-winning team of Sergio Vega and Gerardo Rojas, while fifth overall, just three minutes behind the Vegas team, went to Jim O’Neal, Tim Withers and Jeff Kaplan (Hon).
