| March 25, 2002

Kawasaki Team Green’s Brian Brown scored the overall win at the second round of the AMA National Championship Hare & Hound Series in Murphy, Idaho, March 24. Brown and Yamaha YZ426F-mounted Ty Davis battled back and forth for much of the 100-mile race, with Brown edging ahead at the end to take the win over Davis, who scored the Vet-class victory.

Finishing third overall was Yamaha rider Russell Pearson, followed by Kawasaki Team Green riders Shane Esposito and David Pearson.

Taber Murphy, seventh overall, topped the Four-Stroke class, while Joey Lanza, eighth overall, won the 125cc class.

Defending champ Destry Abbott, the opening-round winner, did not ride. The Kawasaki rider is still recuperating from a dislocated shoulder that he suffered at the World Off-Road Championship Series round the previous week in Lake Havasau City, Arizona.
