Practice Commences at Anaheim

Edison International Field was a busy place today, as practice was held for tomorrow’s opening round of the AMA/EA Sports Supercross Series. From what we could tell, all of the top riders got through the day unscathed and should be ready for tomorrow’s race.

Some of the riders who looked particular good on the track included Ricky Carmichael, Jeremy McGrath, Kevin Windham and Ezra Lusk. Travis Pastrana also looked good and said the track wasn’t too tough, “…but they haven’t put the whoops in yet. That will be the difference,” he said. Pastrana added that he feels 100 percent and is in better health than ever before.

Another rider beside Sebastien Tortelli who won’t make tomorrow’s race is Yamaha’s Tim Ferry. On New Year’s Eve day, while practicing at home in Florida, Ferry twisted his knee and had orthroscopic surgery yesterday. According to Yamaha’s team manager Keith McCarty, Ferry is hoping to make the next round in San Diego.
