Formula USA Arenacross Kicks Off

| November 5, 2001
The Formula USA/Speed Stick National Arenacross kicked off its 2001-2002 season with its traditional season opener at Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum in Des Moines, Iowa, November 3-4.

With the absence of perennial Arenacross champion Buddy Antunez, who has returned to the supercross wars, the series opener gave fans their first glimpses of the new crop of contenders to the throne. If the first two rounds – which hosted three different winners in four main events – is any indication, the battle for the vacated crown could be a close one.
