Andrews Win Scarecrow GNCC

Kawasaki’s Fred Andrews came away with the win at the Scarecrow Grand National Cross Country Series race in Uhrichsville, Ohio, June 3. Andrews battled to the front in muddy conditions, finishing ahead of series leader Rodney Smith (Suzuki) and Shane Watts.
At one point, Watts was leading the way when he struggled up a steep climb, and both Andrews and Smith got around the KTM rider. Andrews and Smith then battled through the last lap, with Andrews coming out on top. Fourth place went to Kawasaki rider Paul Edmondson who has been out of action for most of the series due to injuries. Kawasaki-mounted Chuck Woodford took sixth, followed by Honda rider Josh McLevy and Yamaha riders Randy Hawkins, Barry Hawk and Jason Raines.
Team Suzuki’s Steve Hatch retired with mechanical problems.
The Scarecrow GNCC was the eighth round of the series.
