Esposito WORCS ’em

| February 26, 2001

True, the anogram WORCS really stands for World Off-Road Championship Series, the new-for-2001 western off-road competition circuit, which featured its second round this weekend at Speedworld in Phoenix, Arizona, but Shane Esposito proved by winning the Pro class by over a minute that the above headline is also true. The Kawasaki Team Green rider was dominant at the event, besting four-stroke-mounted Mike Kiedrowski of Team Yoshimura Suzuki Off-road. Completing the podium was Esposito’s teammate and reigning Hare & Hound National Champion Destry Abbott, while Kiedrowski’s teammates – Steve Hatch and Rodney Smith – finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
