Antunez Turns 100

Buddy Antunez (center) finally recorded his 100th Arenacross victory, when he topped the first main event of the weekend at the U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, February 9-10. The win was also the 19th of the season for the Team Suzuki/Axo/Bill’s Pipes/RG3 rider.

“Bud Man” scored the historic win ahead of Jeff Willoh and Josh Demuth in the 125cc main; it would be his only win of the weekend. Later that night, Kawasaki rider Pedro Gonzalez collected his sixth win of the year by topping the 250cc class over Antunez and Demuth.

On Saturday night, Honda rider Jeff Willoh scored the win in the 125cc feature over Demuth and Gonzalez, while Honda rider Rusty Holland topped the 250cc main over Gonzalez and Antunez.

After 10 of 17 rounds, Antunez enjoys a comfortable lead in the series point standings with 705 points, followed by Willoh with 592. Jeff Gibson is third with 540 points, followed by Gonzalez with 519.
