Edmondson Wins One

Brit Paul Edmondson and Aussie Shane Watts swapped their results of one week ago, with Edmondson coming on top this time around. Round four was held in Morganton, North Carolina, yesterday, and the Kawasaki rider, who has already won the first two rounds of the AMA National Championship Hare Scrambles Series, notched his first win of the series.

I’m really happy with my riding, and I can’t tell you how pleased I am with the Kawasaki,” said Edmondson. “I’m going back to the UK for a few days to see my family and do some training back at home; then I will be back out here again to hopefully win again in a couple of weeks’ time.”

Watts, who has won two of the first four GNCC rounds, finished second on a KTM, and retains the lead in the points standings, 77-69 over Suzuki Off-Road’s Steve Hatch. Edmondson is third with 58, despite having DNFed round one when he ran out of gas.

Top American finisher in the muddy race, with a surprisingly strong ride, was Yamaha’s Barry Hawk in third, one position ahead of Hatch. Kawasaki’s Fred Andrews rounded out the top five.
