MotoGP Grand Prix Race at Phillip Island Canceled

Press Release | October 25, 2026

Due to limited visibility affecting the operation of the medical helicopter at the Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia, the MotoGP Grand Prix race, in addition to the Moto2 and Moto3 races, has been canceled. As a farewell to the legendary Phillip Island, the MotoGP riders did two parade laps behind the safety car and stopped on the main straight to greet the fans still packing the hillsides and grandstands.

The cancellation has an effect on the title fight after a dramatic Saturday in the standings too, with Jorge Martin (Aprilia Racing) crashing out of the Sprint when battling now-Championship leader Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team)—25 points less have now been tabled…

With no race possible, a farewell parade took to the Island on Sunday instead, with riders heading out behind the Safety Car to give the Sunday sold-out crowd a last look at MotoGP at the iconic Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
