Two of the Top Teams from that Year’s WERA National Endurance Championship
In this week’s Throwback we wind back the clock 41 years to 1985 and visit round four of that year’s WERA National Endurance Championship at Pocono International Raceway. Two of the top teams are shown in this photo. Leading the way is defending series champ Team Hammer (1) with Dave Schlosser riding the big Suzuki, being chased by the Northridge Racing Yamaha (3). Those two teams led the way early in the Eight-Hour race (cut to seven hours due to rain), but both teams experienced problems in the endurance race and dropped back. Cycle Tech Racing, with David Aldana, John Kocinski and Joey Osowski, won the race and went on to later secure that year’s title.
