The 2027 Isle of Man TT Races will feature revised race formats, greater contingency throughout race week, and a special celebration.

Isle of Man (September 18, 2026) — The 100th running of the Senior TT will form the centrepiece of an evolved nine-race program for the 2027 Isle of Man TT Races.
The schedule will feature revised race formats, greater contingency throughout race week, and a special celebration of the motorcycles that have shaped the history of the iconic Senior TT Race.
Qualifying will take place from Monday, May 31, to Friday, June 4, and will retain the same format and session structure used in 2026. The revised race program will begin on Saturday, June 5, and conclude on Saturday, June 12.
The six-lap RST Superbike TT will return to its traditional position on the opening Saturday of race week, followed by the first of two four-lap Monster Energy Supersport TT Races on Sunday.
Sunday has the shortest scheduled road-closure window of any race day, making a four-lap race better suited to the time available than one of the event’s six-lap headline races. The arrangement also creates greater flexibility across the opening weekend should Saturday’s program be disrupted.
Following a contingency day on Monday, racing will resume on Tuesday with a standalone four-lap RL360 Superstock TT Race followed by the opening Motul Sidecar TT Race.
Wednesday will feature the second Monster Energy Supersport TT and the opening Carole Nash Sportbike TT Race, both over four laps, before a further contingency day on Thursday.
The 100th edition of the Milwaukee Senior TT will take place over six laps on Friday, with Saturday providing a contingency opportunity should the race be affected by weather or other delays.
Race week will conclude on Saturday with the second Motul Sidecar and Carole Nash Sportbike races.

The revised program reduces the overall number of races from ten to nine while increasing the distance and significance of several individual contests.
Superstock will move from two three-lap races to one standalone four-lap TT. Both Sportbike races will increase from three laps to four, while Supersport will retain two four-lap races. The Superbike and Senior TTs will remain the event’s two six-lap headline races.
Subject to the successful completion of the ongoing technical, operational and governance work surrounding the class, the Sidecars will return in a transitional two-race, two-lap format. This will preserve the class’s important place within the TT while supporting the controlled introduction of the changes required for its future.
Paul Phillips, Head of Motorsport, Isle of Man TT Races, said, “The schedule introduced in 2023 achieved a number of important objectives for the TT. It created stronger opening and closing weekends, provided more racing across the week, and gave visitors much greater choice around how and when they came to the Island.
“Across the four TT events in which it has operated, the schedule has helped us attract more fans and deliver greater economic benefit to the Island. Those gains remain central to the 2027 program, but four years of experience have also provided valuable evidence about where the schedule can now be refined.
“For 2027, we believe the right balance is nine substantial and clearly defined races. Moving from two Superstock races to one allows us to give the remaining Superstock race and both Sportbike races greater substance, create more recovery time within the program and provide better protection around the Superbike and Senior TTs.
“This is an evolution rather than a return to the program that existed before 2023. It retains the stronger two-weekend structure while giving each race day a clear purpose. Superbike provides an immediate headline race on the opening Saturday, while placing the 100th Senior on Friday allows us to build the day around that historic occasion and retain Saturday as a genuine contingency opportunity.
“We also want the 100th Senior to be about much more than the race itself. It gives us an opportunity to celebrate the riders, motorcycles and extraordinary performances that have made it the most important race at the TT.”
The 100th Senior will be marked with a program of special content celebrating the history and significance of the race.
A specially curated exhibition, archive films, new features and interviews with former winners will tell the story of the Senior TT, from its earliest years through the Hailwood, Dunlop and Hislop eras and into the modern age of 130-mph-plus laps.
