After announcing Daniel Holgado earlier in the day, BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP have now confirmed its 2027 lineup as Joan Mir gets ready to make the switch from Honda HRC Castrol at the end of the current season.
Having spent the last four campaigns racing for the Japanese giants, a stretch that has seen the #36 collect two podiums, the 2020 MotoGP World Champion’s next chapter will be with Gresini Racing and Ducati—with the team also confirming a new multi-year deal to continue racing the Bologna brand’s machines into MotoGP’s new era.
What’s more, BK8 Gresini Racing has also confirmed that Mir will be racing a factory-spec Desmosedici in 2027, the same bike that Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta will be competing on with the Ducati Lenovo Team.

(July 2, 2026) — Half a season still to go with our hearts on the line, but 2027 is just around the corner, and the BK8 Gresini MotoGP Team is already working to be among the protagonists in the coming years as well.
NEW LINEUP
Joan Mir and Dani Holgado will be the riders entrusted with defending the colors of the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP Team on track. The record of number 36 speaks for itself: two world titles already won (MotoGP in 2020 and Moto3 in 2017), confirming his value at the highest level. Alongside him will be the very young number 96, Moto3 World Championship runner-up in 2024 and one of the main contenders in the Moto2 title fight this season.
THE BIKE
The collaboration with Ducati Corse has been confirmed, the result of a shared vision and a path already marked by success in both the past and present. A multi-year agreement that further strengthens a solid and well-structured relationship. The status of the BK8 Gresini Racing Team remains unchanged, with an official factory bike in the garage available to Joan Mir.
