Jordan Szoke and Ben Young shared the top step of the podium at round three of the Canadian Superbike Championship at Calabogie Motorsports Park, June 27-28. Szoke found the top step by winning Saturday’s Superbike race one, while the reigning five-time CSBK champ, Young, topped Sunday’s race two.

In Saturday’s race, Szoke passed Young on the last lap when Young went wide, and Szoke capitalized on it with the win, just 0.235 of a second ahead of Young.
Andrew Van Winkle (Honda), Alex Michel (Kawasaki) and Sebastien Tremblay (Suzuki) rounded out the top five.
Unfortunately, fans didn’t get to witness a Szoke/Young rematch because of a mechanical issue that prevented Szoke from starting Sunday’s race two. Young again capitalized, jumping out to an early lead and pulling away for a seemingly easy win, his fifth of the year.
However, fans were entertained by a good battle for second between David MacKay, who crashed out of Saturday’s race, and Van Winkle, who was third in Saturday’s race. MacKay held down second, but Van Winkle made a run on him as the laps ran down. MacKay, however, held his ground to take second, and Van Winkle had to settle for third, ahead of Michel and Tremblay.
In the CSBK Championship, Young leads Szoke by 40 points and third-place Van Winkle by 55 points.CN
