The FIM SuperEnduro World Championship kicked off the first of seven rounds of the 2025-26 season, with the world’s top SuperEnduro riders delivering an exciting night of racing to a packed crowd at the PreZero Arena in Gliwice, Poland. The defending World Champion, Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Billy Bolt, ended round one as the rider to beat in the Prestige class.
Entering SuperPole, Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team’s Jonny Walker held the quickest qualifying time. Rieju Factory Racing’s Dominik Olszowy went first in SuperPole, setting a time that would earn him sixth. EnduroGP Champion KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia, making his SuperEnduro debut, impressed with fifth. But Bolt set the pace, dipping under the 38-second mark to post the fastest time by 0.349 of a second over Mitch and Ash Brightmore of X-Grip Racing in second and third. A crash by Walker dropped him to seventh.
As Final 1 got underway, Bolt quickly showed his rivals who was boss, grabbing the holeshot for the Diverse Extreme Team and taking the lead. Behind him, Mitch and Ash Brightmore battled for second and third, while Walker worked through traffic. As laps progressed, Bolt secured the win over Mitch Brightmore. A final corner clash between Ash Brightmore and Walker saw Ash recover fastest to take third, while Stark Future’s Eddie Karlsson capitalized on Walker’s incident to finish fourth.

With the start order reversed, Fast Eddy Racing’s Harry Edmondson took the holeshot for the Diverse Extreme Team. Diogo Vieira of Raposeira Bubbles Racing quickly moved into the lead, holding it for two laps until Walker pushed ahead, with Bolt also passing Vieira for second. Bolt then crashed, giving Walker some breathing room with over three minutes remaining. Walker controlled the pace to win, with Bolt unable to catch him. Ash Brightmore finished third, with Karlsson and Vieira rounding out the top five.
Bolt aimed for the overall win in Final 3, taking the holeshot and quickly pulling away from the pack. Behind him, drama unfolded when the Brightmore brothers collided early in the second corner—Ash injured his knee and had to exit early. Holding a strong second, Karlsson was on the verge of a debut overall podium for Stark Future. He fought hard for four laps before eventually yielding to a charging Walker. Olszowy earned his best result of the night in fourth, followed by Manuel Lettenbichler (KTM), the FIM Hard Enduro Champion, in fifth.

With two wins from three races and the SuperPole victory, Bolt emerged as the overall winner of round one. Walker finished second, while Karlsson achieved a memorable debut podium for Stark Future in third. Despite finishing seventh in Final 3, Mitch Brightmore placed fourth overall. Although Ash Brightmore couldn’t finish Final 3, he scored enough points to end the night in fifth overall, ahead of Garcia. Olszowy, Lettenbichler, Marc Fernandez Serra and Diogo Vieira rounded out the top 10.
“Round one here in Poland is done, and it’s been a really solid start to the season,” Bolt said. “The track was challenging, and the dirt made it tricky to push at times, with a lot of lines leaving you open to attack, but overall, things came together well. I managed the races smartly and felt strong throughout the night. I had a big moment in race two, but I was able to recover and limit the damage, which was important. To come away with the overall win is something I’m very happy with.”

The 2025 AMA EnduroCross Champion, Walker, said, “I’m happy with how round one has gone. It wasn’t perfect, but we showed strong pace with a race win and a solid second in the final race, and I was closing in on Billy towards the end, which was encouraging. The first race didn’t go to plan after a crash on the final lap cost me a few positions, but to leave here second in the championship is still a good start. There’s definitely room for improvement, and I’m confident we can be even stronger heading into Germany.”
World Enduro Champion Garcia was proud of his performance in his first SuperEnduro World Championship race. “I’ve finished the first-ever SuperEnduro of my life, and I’m really proud of how I rode,” he said. “One goal was to qualify for SuperPole, and I was able to achieve that, along with a really good lap. My other main goal for the races was to give 100 percent, as always, but most of all to have fun.

“The first race went well. I was able to stay out of trouble and get a good result. The second race was more complicated with its reverse start, but I was able to fight my way through quite well. In the last race, I was running third but made a mistake in one of the most technical sections and dropped down a bit. The best feeling comes from the fact that I was able to improve from the first moto to the last; my riding improved, and I found a good rhythm out there. It’s been so much fun, and I think there are definitely some skills from SuperEnduro that I can take through to EnduroGP. I really hope in the future I can race a full season.” CN
