2026 Suzuki SV-7GX First Look and Specifications

A year after the Suzuki GSX-S1000GX hit showroom floors, Suzuki is giving it a little bother in the SV-7GX, using the company’s venerable 654cc V-twin that powered bikes like the SV650 and V-Strom 650 as its base.

Visually, the SV-7GX takes cues from the larger GSX-S1000GX, adopting similarly sculpted side fairings and a partial front cowl shaped to smooth airflow around the rider. An adjustable windscreen and standard hand guards further support comfort during longer rides.

Suzuki’s new touring steed should prove quite a hit, especially given it’s powered by that near bulletproof motor.

The 645cc, 90-degree V-twin remains the core of the package. Suzuki has revised the intake tract with a shorter airbox outlet to encourage stronger pull in the upper rev range. Output is listed at 72 horsepower at 8500 rpm and 47 lb-ft of torque at 6800 rpm. A new two-stage catalytic system—using oxygen sensors before and after the catalyst—helps the bike satisfy Euro 5+ emissions rules.

Three rider-selectable throttle maps tailor response via Suzuki’s trusty Drive Mode Select system in the most powerful A mode, middle range B mode and Wet mode C. A three-level traction control system, cornering-sensitive ABS, bidirectional quickshifter, and Suzuki’s low-rpm assist function all come standard.

Underneath, the steel trellis frame traces its lineage to the SV650 but has been reworked to lower mass centralization and tune flex characteristics. The rider triangle is more relaxed than the SV650’s, with a higher and closer handlebar and slightly lowered footpegs. Seat height measures 31.3 inches, aided by thicker padding for both rider and passenger. A tubular grab-rail structure at the rear doubles as a compact luggage rack.

Suspension consists of a 41mm conventional fork offering 4.9 inches of travel and a linkage-type rear shock with 5.1 inches of travel and preload adjustment. Twin 290mm front discs with four-piston calipers handle braking. The 17-inch cast wheels come wrapped in Pirelli Angel GT II sport-touring tires.

The SV-7GX’s ride position is a little on the sportier side for the category with the rider having more weight over the front-end.

A 4.2-inch TFT dash supports smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Fuel capacity is 4.6 gallons and curb weight is listed at 465 pounds.

Three color options will be available at launch. U.S. pricing and arrival dates are still to be confirmed.
