The action kicked off on Friday with the traditional GetzenRodeo Prologue conducted before thousands of excited fans. Husqvarna rider Billy Bolt of Great Britain took the win by seven seconds over Lettenbichler.

Returning to action on Saturday morning for the GetzenRace qualifying round, Lettenbichler immediately asserted his dominance. Over the 12-lap race, he built a commanding advantage to win by four minutes and 24 seconds over Sherco’s Mario Roman, which also earned him three valuable championship points. Bolt was third.

“Mani” (Lettenbichler) carried that momentum into the afternoon’s GetzenChamp main race. First off the line, the KTM 300 EXC racer grabbed the lead from the opening lap and never looked back, controlling the pace throughout the demanding race. Extending his advantage to 12 minutes. Lettenbichler lapped every rider except for runner-up Roman.

“So that’s GetzenRodeo done, and what a crazy day it’s been,” Lettenbichler said. “In the quali race this morning, I had a good pace, and I was pushing a lot, so I managed to just keep building on my lead to win that with over four minutes to spare, which was cool. The main race was go-time for me. I really wanted to win it in front of my home crowd, and I honestly wasn’t even thinking about the championship at all. It’s so special to win the championship here at Getzen. The crowd was insane, and I’m honestly speechless at how motivating they were. I felt like I was at my best today, and it paid off. I’m proud of the whole Red Bull KTM team; they have worked so hard all year, so to clinch the title with one round to spare is incredible. I can’t believe we have done this for four years in a row now!”

Roman was second in the race, followed by Bolt, Great Britain’s Mitch Brightmore (GasGas) and South Africa’s Matthew Green (KTM).
