The 2025 Mission MotoAmerica Mini Cup National Final unfolded at Road America’s Briggs & Stratton Motorplex in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, August 8-10, with wet Sunday morning conditions adding an extra challenge to the weekend’s title fights.
National championships went to Kensei Matsudaira (GP 190), Cruise Texter (Stock 50), Bodie Paige (Street GP), Chase Jazikoff (Stock 110) and Zaal Farhand, the only double winner, taking both GP 160 and GP 110 crowns.
The headline duel came in GP 190 between former champion Matsudaira and defending champ Mahdi Salem. Their Sunday battles were fierce, culminating in a dramatic final race when Matsudaira crashed while leading, collecting Salem in the process. Both remounted quickly and fought to the last corner, where Matsudaira edged Salem for the win and the title, having claimed three of four rounds. Matsudaira, the 2022 GP 190 champ, was competing in his final Mini Cup season and now eyes a full European Talent Cup campaign or a Red Bull Rookies Cup seat for 2026.
“I was being a little cautious since I crashed in the qualifying session, so going down was a little surprising,” said 14-year-old Matsudaira. “I apologize to Mahdi if he crashed because of me. Luckily, I was able to pick it up right away, and the bike was still running. It’s good to win the title back and get a little revenge for last year.”
Nine-year-old Zaal Farhand claimed two titles. In GP 160, he benefited from misfortune for Jase Dill, who had dominated the first three rounds but suffered a mechanical DNF in race three. Farhand’s consistent run of four second-place finishes sealed the championship.
In a show of sportsmanship, he invited Dill onto the podium’s top step, calling him “the real champion of the class.” Farhand left no doubt in GP 110, sweeping all four races for his second title of the weekend.
Stock 110 champion Chase Jazikoff was the only repeat winner from 2024. Last year’s Stock 50 titleholder, Jazikoff, secured his second straight crown by winning three of four rounds.
In Stock 50, Cruise Texter demonstrated his adaptability, adding a pavement championship to the flat track national titles he earned earlier in the year. The achievement echoed the career of his late grandfather, Randy Texter, who also excelled on both dirt and asphalt.
Bodie Paige captured the Street GP title with consistent speed across the rounds, rounding out a weekend that saw champions crowned in six competitive classes.CN
