The Road to Loretta’s has reached its tipping point, as the Regional Championships are now complete and the field of contenders will be set for the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship Presented by AMSOIL this July 28th through August 2nd. A total of 1512 national entries are now locked following a month of racing that began over Memorial Day weekend and wrapped up this past weekend with the final two events for the Northeast and North Central regions.

Thousands of racers from all over the United States and beyond battled it out across the eight different regions, with five hosting two separate, individual Regional Championships for the 17 Youth classes and the 19 Amateur classes. The remaining three regions hosted combined events.

As expected, the most highly touted racers rose to the occasion at the Regional Championships, with the likes of Landen Gordon, Kayden Minear, and Enzo Temmerman asserting themselves in both 250 Pro Sport and Open Pro Sport. Additionally, Deacon Denno, Max Shane, and Vincent Wey are poised to be focal points of the B classes and will go head-to-head in Schoolboy 2.

The Youth divisions are brimming with talent as well, with a large contingent of racers enjoying impressive performances at their respective Regional Championship. This loaded group includes Easton Graves and Jaxson Lang in Mini Sr. 1 and Mini Sr. 2, Chase Dashiell, Dane Pappas, Darren Pine, and Ries Seeba in Supermini 1 and Supermini 2, and Kannon Hargrove, Christian Humphrey, and Kevyn de Pinho in Schoolboy 1 and 125 Jr. B/C. Not to be outdone, the 65cc division saw the emergence of riders like Jett Rau and Talon Rogers.

All that remains for each of these athletes and all the racers who punched their ticket to Loretta Lynn’s Ranch are three motos across each of the 36 classes that comprise the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship. The most exciting week in amateur motocross is sure to be memorable.

Raycin Kyler

Raycin Kyler Makes History, Twofold

What a memorable couple months it has been for young Florida 65cc racer Raycin Kyler. In April, the Cobra Elite rider became the first female competitor to be named to the United States Junior Motocross Team, where she and her 65cc teammates Levi Geis and Kannon Zabojnik will take on the world’s best at the FIM Junior Motocross World Championship from Romagné, France, on July 6.

Kyler followed up her groundbreaking selection with an incredibly resilient outing a few weeks ago at the Southeast Regional Championship from South Carolina’s South of the Border MX on May 30. The 11-year-old made history once again by becoming the first female to outright win a regional in an open class, doing so in both 65cc (10-11) Limited and 65cc (10-11). Her journey wasn’t without its adversity, as a scary crash left her bruised and her bike damaged, but she overcame the odds to win five of six motos and establish herself as a favorite for titles at Loretta Lynn’s.

To top it off, Kyler also earned a sport in the Girls (11-16) class with a third-place result against fellow racers upwards of five years her senior.

This trailblazer will be one to watch at the Junior World Championship in a couple weeks and at the Ranch just a few weeks after that as she’ll chase even more history with the world watching.

Australian Legend Chad Reed Secures First Trip to Loretta’s, Inducted into AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Three Days Later

Australian MX Legend Chad Reed

With an illustrious 18-year professional career that saw him capture a pair of Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championships, a Pro Motocross Championship, and become one of the most consistent racers in the history of the sport, it’s a shock to learn that Australian legend Chad Reed never experienced a single gate drop at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. Now, the most decorated international racer of all time can check that elusive accomplishment off the list.

In his first journey on the Road to Loretta’s, Reed successfully punched his ticket at the Southeast Regional Championship from Lake Sugar Tree Motorsports Park over Father’s Day weekend. He enjoyed a winning effort in Senior (40+) and also secured a spot in Junior (25+), where he will join several other former pros in each class. However, no one holds as stellar of a racing résumé as Reed.

That historic career is what landed Reed on the list of nominees that were unveiled for the 2025 AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in May. Then, just last week, Reed officially headed the group of six inductees for the Class of 2025, mere days removed from his success at the regional. He will be enshrined during the induction ceremony for the Pickerington, Ohio museum on October 23.

SMX Next – Motocross Scouting Moto Combine in Full Swing

The top amateur prospects in amateur motocross will be showcased on a national stage throughout the summer as SMX Next – Motocross Scouting Moto Combine, presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare, is scheduled for a trio of events over the course of the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship.

The first gathering took place just a few weeks ago in Northern California, in conjunction with the legendary Hangtown Motocross Classic. A field of 20 of the top A & B class racers took part in classroom-style education sessions and were teamed up with one of four esteemed Rider Coaches before taking to the track for a pair of motos in temperatures nearing triple digits.

While the conditions were challenging, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing prospect Kayden Minear turned heads with an impressive 1-1 sweep for his first SMX Next victory. The young Australian then made his professional debut one week later at the Thunder Valley National in Colorado. In two Pro Motocross starts, Minear finished 16th at Thunder Valley (18-12) and 18th at High Point (20-15).
