Kawasaki announced an immediate “stop sale notice” to dealers regarding the 2025 KX450, 450X and 450SR models, citing the surface durability of the primary gear.

A statement from Kawasaki reveals, “On certain eligible units, the surface durability of the primary gear for the crankshaft may be insufficient. Continuous use in this condition may result in failure of the primary gear.”
Kawasaki expects to issue repair information to dealers by mid-April. Owners of eligible units will be notified to contact an authorized Kawasaki dealership to schedule an appointment for the necessary repairs. Dealers are encouraged to immediately discontinue sales of 2025 KX450 models and submit the required product registrations for eligible units. CN
