Ducati unveiled the completely redesigned 2025 Multistrada V2 and claims that the twin-cylinder crossover model currently has the lightest weight in its category.
The new Multistrada V2 will be available in two versions: the standard V2 and the V2 S, which feature DSS semi-active suspension.
The 2025 Multistrada V2 has a Ducati’s V2 engine, a 90° V-twin with a displacement of 890cc, featuring IVT variable intake valve timing and a coil spring valve recall system. It delivers a claimed 115 hp at 10,750 rpm and 67.9 lb-ft of torque at 8250 rpm. Weighing only 121.1 pounds, the engine helps significantly reduce the bike’s overall weight.
High-rev power is combined with sustained torque delivery at low and mid-range revs: more than 70% of the maximum torque is already available at 3500 rpm, according to Ducati, and between 3500 and 11,000 rpm, the torque never drops below 75%. A larger flywheel enhances riding comfort, especially in touring or traffic, by providing a smoother throttle response.
The gear ratios are specifically designed for the Multistrada, with shorter first and second gears to improve usability at low speeds and enhance full-load acceleration. The gearbox features the new Ducati Quick Shift 2.0, delivering a more precise pedal feel and faster gear changes.
Weighing a claimed 439 pounds (wet weight, without fuel) and 445 pounds for the V2 S version, the new 2025 Multistrada V2 is 39.7 pounds less than the previous model.
Ducati’s R&D technicians updated the 2025 model to “improve thermal comfort and protection from the elements.” Its newly styled front of the bike has a shorter “beak” that integrates adjustable windshield. New headlights and DRL (daytime running light) are inspired by the latest-generation Panigale and Multistrada V4 and give the bike a “compact and aggressive front view.” The tail is slimmer and the rear grab handle is shorter giving it a more streamlined appearance.
The base model has a Marzocchi fork featuring 45mm tubes and a Sachs shock absorber with a progressive link, both fully adjustable. The Multistrada V2 S is fitted with semi-active suspension with Ducati Skyhook Suspension electronic control.
New electronic strategies limit diving during braking (anti-dive) and reduce the tendency to “sit” during acceleration (anti-squat).
Additionally, the Minimum Preload function on the V2 S allows the rear suspension to be lowered with a button, making it easier to place your feet on the ground, especially when fully loaded or riding with a passenger. As with the new Multistrada V4, the Suspension Modes can be adjusted independently of the Riding Modes, enabling riders to select their preferred suspension calibration while maintaining the same electronic control settings and engine response.
The rider and passenger seats have also been redesigned, with more legroom and torso space for the passenger thanks to the repositioned top box and side-case attachments. The ‘strada V2’s seat that can be adjusted to two positions, with heights of 33.5 and 32.7 inches. The S version comes with with Ducati’s semi-active Skyhook suspension and the Minimum Preload system, making it possible to lower the seat to 31.1 inches.
Both versions are shod with a 19-inch front wheel paired with a 17-inch rear wheel, fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires, and offer 6.7 inches of suspension travel. Brembo braking system features dual 320mm front discs and a single 265mm rear disc.
For the electronics package, which are selected via redesigned handlebar controls and the new 5-inch TFT color dashboard, there are five available Riding Modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro, and Wet) and four Power Modes. The Riding Modes allow the rider to set the cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and Engine Brake Control (EBC) to pre-defined levels, which the rider can modify.
The three Infomodes (Road, Road Pro, and Rally) allow you to make the most of the dashboard’s capabilities, changing the information displayed: For example, Road Pro provides the percentage of power and torque used in real-time.
Cruise control comes standard as does a USB socket integrated into the dashboard, and the Ducati Brake Light EVO (which manages emergency flashing in sudden braking) and, in the case of the V2 S, the Ducati Multimedia System, with the possibility of activating the Turn-by-turn navigator accessory. A new Coming Home function keeps the low beams active when the ignition is turned off, illuminating the area in front of the bike and making home entry easier.
The standard version is offered in Ducati Red, while the V2 S comes in Storm Green or Ducati Red.
Additionally, the V2 S comes in an optional Travel trim, which includes plastic side cases, a centerstand and heated grips.
The new Ducati Multistrada V2 will arrive at dealerships in the United States in March 2025. Pricing for the Multistrada V2 will be $15,995 and start at $19,295 for the V2 S model.
