Three racers from the United States participated in the YZ bLU cRU FIM Europe Cup SuperFinale during the Motocross of Nations weekend at Matterley Basin. The SuperFinale invitation is the first time a major moto brand has hosted riders to MXoN in this way, and is the culmination of Yamaha’s 2024 bLU cRU Invitational races where racers competed for the coveted spots on Team USA in the 65cc, 85cc and 125cc classes at Glen Helen Raceway, Washougal MX Park and Budds Creek Motocross Park earlier this year.
Kade Nightingale (65cc), Tayce Morgan (85cc) and Chace Lawton (125cc) represented the USA well.
“This summer’s bLU cRU Invitational races spanned across the USA, and we found some impressive talent in every class, from young racers just starting out on a PW50 to veterans racing YZ450Fs in the Vet classes,” said Jennifer Davie, Yamaha’s Experiential Marketing Manager, before the race. “With a keen focus on our SuperFinale qualifying classes from all three rounds, our team of judges [which included Doug Dubach, Damon Bradshaw and Ryan Villopoto] have discussed all our 45 qualifiers at length and narrowed the list to the three finalists to join us in the United Kingdom. We are extremely excited to have Kade, Tayce and Chace join us at this year’s Yamaha SuperFinale!”
Nightingale placed third in the 40-rider 65cc race and Morgan was the winner in the 85cc division.
“It feels really good to win,” said Morgan. “I got the holeshot, but it was a tough race because I had a crash, and I had to push hard to come back to the front, but I did it, and the feeling is awesome. Thanks to Yamaha and everyone who supports me.”
Lawton finished just inside the top 10 in the competitive 125cc class. CN
