The followers of the WORCS Championship packed their gearbags and headed to E-Street MX in Marysville, California, for the third installment of the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC WORCS Series, February 24-25. Beautiful weather and a new track to the series brought fresh air to the racing scene with some excellent racing. A seven-mile course with terrain ranging from single track through trees to riding on top of river rock and a pristine MX track.

Beta Racing’s Dare DeMartile took the win at what he calls his hometown race, with friends and family all showing up in support. Mason Semmens brought home another win in Pro 250, with Jackson Glathar regaining the top spot in Pro-Am.
Ten riders lined up for the 450cc Pro race, with some local talent coming out to compete against the best in the WORCS Championship. DeMartile showcased how comfortable he felt at home, as he shot out of the gate early, grabbed the holeshot and never looked back. He set the fastest lap time of the day on his Beta on lap two with a blistering time that was seven seconds quicker than anyone else on the track. He maintained that pace for most of the race, allowing himself to build a lead that extended to 30 seconds at one point.
SLR Honda rider Cole Martinez returned to WORCS racing and made it count, as he settled in behind DeMartile early and kept that position from start to finish.
Right behind them, Justin Hoeft and Trevor Stewart battled for third. Stewart, on the Purvines Racing Yamaha, was in third after making a pass on Tyler Lynn during the second lap and kept that for the first half of the race.
Hoeft started in fifth, and each lap knocked seconds off his pace until he laid down his fastest lap during lap six, while also making the pass on his teammate for third place. Purvines Racing riders rounded out the top five, with Stewart and Jack Simpson finishing behind Hoeft.
In 250cc Pro, Mason Semmens, riding on his RPM FMF KTM machine, was on fire this weekend as he made a pass for the lead on the second lap and then put quite a distance between him and the competition. His fastest lap was almost 15 seconds quicker than Cole Zeller’s.
Zeller held onto second place for the entire race after narrowly grabbing the holeshot ahead of Kai Aiello.
Battles, once again, brewed for the third position, with four different riders holding the spot at some point in the race. On his 3Bros Husqvarna, Kai Aiello held onto it for more than half the race as Jake Alvarez battled hard to take it away. They swapped positions several times before making a pass stick during lap six and pulling ahead of Aiello. It all came down to the final lap when Alvarez made a mistake that caused him to drop from third to fifth.
Colton Aeck saw an opportunity as he pushed his Hatch Racing Kawasaki to his fastest lap and made it from fifth to third to grab his second straight podium of the season. He also took the Pro 250 points lead with the series heading to Lake Havasu next month. Aiello finished in fourth and Alvarez rounded out the top five.
Jackson Glathar rebounded from a rough round at Glen Helen to land back on top of the box in first place in the Pro-Am class, regaining the points lead from competitor Keegan Hardy, who was fifth at Marysville. Glathar led from start to finish, finishing just under three minutes ahead of Kayden Lynn.
Lynn got on the box for the first time this season, fighting from a midpack start and landing in second by the fifth lap and then holding off a charging Bryce Sumrall.
After coming around the first lap buried in eighth place, Sumrall gained three positions in the second lap and caught Hayden Florez, a fierce competitor, by the seventh of 10 laps. He finished just 20 seconds behind Lynn, grabbing the final spot on the podium.
Hayden Florez and Keegan Hardy finished in the top five.
Ryan Surratt won the FMF 125 Pro class for the second time in a row, beating out 2023 Champion Tristun Alvarez and Travis Damon.
Mikayla Nielsen coasted to a victory on her SLR Honda over Katelyn Jacobs, who is coming off a hard crash at Glen Helen.
