Made for youth off-road riders, the ATR-2Y from 6D Helmets features the same build quality and advanced ODS technology found in the adult-sized ATR-2, but they utilize softer, more compliant materials for the still developing youth brain.
The rebuildable ODS (Omni-Directional Suspension) technology utilizes two liners connected by elastomeric isolation dampers that allow the inner EPS liner to move independently from the outer EPP foam layer, which mitigates rotational forces to the brain. Due to this unique design, the inner EPS liner and the chinbar of a crashed ATR-2Y helmet are rebuildable.
The peak is designed to breakaway upon impact, and the emergency-release cheekpads can be removed by first responders.
