Yoshimura Suzuki’s Mat Mladin Scored Victory En Route to Championship

In this week’s Throwback we travel back 20 years to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and the 2003 Chevy Trucks U.S. Superbike Championship. This photo shows the start of Sunday’s race two with the Hondas of Kurtis Roberts (No. 80) and Miguel Duhamel (No. 17) getting a slight jump on the rest of the riders. The Suzukis of Jason Pridmore (No. 43) and Mat Mladin (No. 66) also got off the line well. By the finish the Suzuki riders made their way to the front with Mladin scoring victory on his Yoshimura Suzuki over the Attack Suzuki of Pridmore. Ben Bostrom took third. It completed a weekend sweep for Mladin, who also won Saturday’s race one. The Aussie went on that year to win his fourth AMA Superbike Championship.
