In this week’s Throwback we program the time machine to September 17, 1989 and the Brazilian Motorcycle Grand Prix weekend at the Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia. This photo shows Luca Cadalora (No. 6) leading a strong group that includes Loris Reggiani (No. 13), Carlos Cardús (No. 8), Reinhold Roth (No. 5), Masahiro Shimizu (No. 9) and Sito Pons (No. 1) in the 250cc Grand Prix race at about halfway. At the finish Cadalora held off Shimizu by 2-10ths of a second with Reggiani just another few tenths behind in third. Cadalora had a long and successful career with the Italian earning 34-career GP victories and three world titles.
