Kawasaki just announced a new model to its dual sport line of motorcycles, the 2022 KLX230S.

The new KLX230S is essentially the same motorcycle as the KLX230 (no “S”) but with shorter suspension for the main goal of lowering seat height. The “S” model has a significantly reduced seat height compared to the non-“S” model, going from 34.8 inches to 32.7 inches.

Suspension travel has been reduced, as well, from 8.7 inches to 6.2 inches in the front and from 8.8 inches to 6.6 inches in the rear.

The front forks have been shortened a total of 2.4 inches by using shorter dual-stage springs with a firmer spring rate than the KLX230 model, helping to bring the seat height down approximately 2.2 inches.

The KLX230S is also available with dual-sport-tuned ABS.
The 2022 KLX230S is offered in Lime Green with an MSRP of $4799. The 2022 KLX230S ABS is available in Lime Green or Urban Olive Green/Ebony with an MSRP of $5099. CN
