Payson, UT (June 9, 2020) – Weather played a factor for SLC 3 as rain soaked the track, making it one of the most challenging races of the season. Team riders Blake Baggett and Benny Bloss battled the conditions in Salt Lake City, UT for round 13 of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross series.
Rider Reports
Blake Baggett used a solid start in his heat race to start inside the top ten, working his way to a 6th place finish and a spot in the main event. A mid-pack start in the main event had Blake buried deep in the pack. The 100% supported rider would dig deep, navigating ruts on the rain-soaked track to finish the night taking the checkered flag in 12th place.
“The track was tough today. I just couldn’t get going in the main event and struggled a bit in the mud. We will regroup and come back strong on Wednesday.” – Blake Baggett
Benny Bloss didn’t let the mud phase him, as he would use a good start to battle inside the top ten, crossing the finish line in 5th place and a spot in the main event. He kept the gas on in the main and battled his way from a mid-pack start to just outside the top ten. Benny would hit the ground while making a pass. He would remount and the Palmetto Motosports supported rider would work his way back up to once again finish 13th at the checkered flag.
The team now prepares for Wednesday Night’s race at Rice-Eccles stadium and round 14 of the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross Series.
