2020 KTM 890 R Duke Coming Soon for $11,699
Rennie Scaysbrook | March 30, 2020
The brand new 2020 KTM 890 Duke R will be hitting dealer floors sooner than we originally anticipated, with KTM USA getting a small early batch of the highly anticipated naked bike. This bike was not supposed to see the light of USA day until the Fall of this year, but such has been the response that KTM has fast-forwarded the delivery for a price of $11,699 with bikes expected to land within the next month (Coronavirus chaos pending).
The 890 Duke is the replacement for the brilliant 790 Duke, a machine we also had to wait a year longer than the rest of the world to get (this happens a lot with manufacturers in the U.S, not just with KTM). It’s an up-spec model compared to the 790, and much more in line with the recently released KTM 1290 Super Duke R. There’s ow fully adjustable suspension in the APEX fork up front and WP shock out the back; Brembo Stylema calipers replace the J. Juan calipers, and the extra capacity of the 890 motor sees power boosted to 15 hp 119 hp and 73 lb-ft of torque. Add into the mix a dry weight (why can’t we just have a full wet weight, KTM?) of 365 lb, and you’ll have a very spicy orange meatball indeed.
We’ll be testing the 890 Duke as soon as a press unit becomes available at Cycle News and if it’s anything like the 1290, this thing is going to be awesome.
