Most anyone following the Kenda Full Gas Sprint Enduro Series knew it would be just a matter of time before Josh Toth would get his first win. After all, the Connecticut rider has been getting his share of test wins and surely it wouldn’t be long before he strung enough together to get a victory. Well, that elusive win came for Toth at the Tennesse Sprint Enduro in Greenville, April 7-8.

Toth Wins Tennessee Sprint Enduro 2019
Toth won four of the six tests and was just consistent enough in the remaining tests to bag that first win.
Toth’s FMF/KTM teammate, Kailub Russell, had more test wins, six in all, but a mistake in the second test on Saturday was just too costly, dropping the North Carolinian to second overall, 23 seconds behind Toth.
The Tennessee race was super competitive between the top three, Toth, Russell and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Thad Duvall, who was hot after the win, too, and was just half-second behind Russell at the finish for third overall.
Russell and Duvall, both veterans, made costly mistakes that cost them valuable time. While Toth, a relative newcomer to the pro division, stayed mistake-free for the most part to get the win.
Russell rode well enough to win, but made a fatal mistake in the second test on Saturday that put him in a hole he was not able to dig his way out of.
Russell came back to win Sunday’s event, giving him second overall for the weekend.
Duvall rounded out the podium with two test wins, one on Saturday and one on Sunday.
Coastal Racing Husqvarna’s Layne Michael has been off the bike for an extended time due to an injury, but looked fit and in form en route to fourth overall.
Evan Smith was fifth overall on his Husqvarna/Max Motorsports/FXR FC 250, which was also good for the win in the Pro2 division. Smith won eight of the 12 tests in the Pro2 division and beat out Beta USA’s Mike Witkowski by just over a minute to claim the class win.
Babbitt’s Monster Energy Kawasaki teammates Josh Strang and Jordan Ashburn battled with each other for most of the weekend and wound up occupying sixth and seventh.
Witkowski won one test in the Pro2 class and was eighth overall and second in the Pro2 class. Meanwhile, Trail Jesters KTM development rider Jesse Ansley won three Pro2 tests en route to ninth overall and third in the Pro2 class.
Gas Gas North America’s Thorn Devlin rounded out the top 10 overall and was fourth overall in the Pro2 class.
In the Women’s Pro division, Husqvarna-backed Tayla Jones took a solid win over Maxxis/KTM’s Becca Sheets. Jones finished two minutes up on Sheets, while MEP MX KTM’s Mackenzie Tricker was third, three minutes and twenty seconds behind Sheets.
