Atlas has updated designs and four new colorways for 2019
Atlas has four new colorways for 2019, including the solid colors Aqua (teal) and Fire (red) braces, featuring full color polymer construction with matching padding.
The other two colorways are Virus and Tundra, and, carrying over from 2018 are the Nightshift (black) and Ghost (white) for those looking for a clean slate that can match any gear.
All the colors are available in Tyke, Prodigy, and Air models/sizes, with prices ranging from $199.99 to $329.99. The Broll ($99.99), a hybrid neck brace/neck roll for youth gets the new Fire red color option added to the lineup.
Atlas is trusted and used by a long list of SX/MX/AX pro riders: Ryan Villopoto, Jason Anderson, Colton Facciotti, Kaven Benoit, Matt Goerke, Daniel Milner, Gavin Faith, Evgeny Bobryshev, Darian Sanayei, Rui Goncalves, Martin Davalos, Chase Sexton, Kyle Chisholm, Carson Mumford, Jordan Jarvis, Ethan Mann, and more.
Atlas Neck Brace combine a simplistic, minimalist design with flexibility, suspension. The flexible nature of the material is designed to slow down violent impacts in an effort to spread out and reduce impact forces. The Split-Flex Frame design allows the rear of the brace to mimic the natural movements of the shoulders for comfort and mobility.
Each Atlas Neck Brace sits around the spine and sternum, transferring impact forces to the bigger muscle groups rather than directly on to the spine and sternum. Chest suspension keeps the head in motion during a longer period of the impact, while promoting tuck-and-roll ability during an accident.
Previous Atlas Braces had a tether on the back to control the overall movement and flexibility of the brace, and also helps to kept the brace from being pulled apart in an accident. For 2019, the Atlas braces are now wireless.
