2019 Kawasaki Ninja H2 First Look—Kawasaki has released details on the new H2 range that includes the H2 Carbon and full noise H2 R.
While not a ground-up redesign, there’s more power on tap, with Kawasaki’s European HQ claiming the supercharged, 999cc inline four H2 will produce a massive 227.8 hp (although we’ll have to wait and see what the U.S. version will make when it gets here.

The new found ponies, up from 197 hp on the 2016-2018 H2, comes via a new air filter, intake, different spark plugs and an ECU that’s been swiped from the sport touring Ninja SX.
Stopping the show will be the four-piston, monobloc Brembo Stylema calipers clamping down on 330mm discs that first appeared on the Ducati Panigale V4 at the beginning of this year.
Also new will be the fitment of the Bridgestone RS11 tires for the H2 and H2 Carbon streetbikes, with the H2 R track version still using Bridgestone V01 tires.
The H2 SX also donates the new full color dash that displays gear position, odometer, dual trip meters, current mileage, average mileage, fuel consumption, bank angle display and max bank angle recording function, coolant temperature, boost indicator, boost (intake air chamber) temperature, clock, and Economical Riding Indicator. You can also now connect your smartphone and make and receive calls through the dash.
One of the cooler features of the new H2 range is the use of what Kawasaki calls Highly Durable Paint. It’s used on all the non-carbon fiber body parts and allows certain types of light scratches to heal themselves, although Kawasaki does say the paint won’t repair from key, coin or zipper scratches.
The self-healing is achieved through microscopic soft and hard segments within the top coat working like a chemical spring, creating a trampoline effect that absorbs many impacts.
Finally, there’s new LED lighting front and back.
The 2019 Kawasaki H2 comes in Mirror Coated Spark Black and the H2 Carbon will come in the Mirror Coated Matte Spark Black/Golden Blazed Green paint scheme. The H2R will come with the Mirror Coated Matte Spark Black paint. Kawasaki has yet to release U.S. price and availability.
