Bel-Rays New and Returning Athletes Make Strong Showing in Anaheim

Farmingdale, NJ (January 11, 2017) – Bel-Ray-sponsored riders, Jason Anderson and Martin Davalos of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team, rode to great success in the opening round of the 2017 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season at AMA Supercross Anaheim 1 in Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California on Saturday, January 7.
After winning the opening heat of the season, 250SX West rider Martin Davalos rode a smooth and consistent race to keep third place throughout the main event. In 450SX, Jason Anderson charged hard through the first heat to claim a closely fought fourth place. A mid-pack start for Anderson in the main event led to a thrilling push through the field, making aggressive passes to finish fourth overall.
“A1 was pretty decent,” explained Anderson. “I struggled with setup earlier in the day but we made some changes and I was able to come through the pack to get fourth.”
Bel-Ray’s family of sponsored riders achieved the following results during the opening round of the 2017 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship:

Justin Bogle – 12th place, 450SX Class at Monster Energy AMA Supercross Anaheim 1 – (12th in points overall)
Broc Tickle – 16th place, 450SX Class at Monster Energy AMA Supercross Anaheim 1 – (16th in points overall)

Jason Anderson – 4th place, 450SX Class at Monster Energy AMA Supercross Anaheim 1 – (4th in points overall)
Martin Davalos – 3rd place, 250SX Class at Monster Energy AMA Supercross Anaheim 1 – (3rd in points overall)
For the next round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, Bel-Ray sponsored riders will head to San Diego to compete at Petco Park on January 14.
Bel-Ray Celebrates 2016 Athletes Accomplishments
With 2016 at an end, total performance lubricant manufacturer, Bel-Ray, is proud to honor all of its sponsored athletes and their outstanding performances. Ranging from the AMA Pro Motocross champion to AMA Pro Flat Track and FIM World Motocross Championship riders, Bel-Ray is proud to honor the accomplishments and successes of its athletes as the 2016 powersports season comes to a close.
Bel-Ray-sponsored rider, Ken Roczen of RCH Soaring Eagle/ Jimmy Johns/ Suzuki Factory Racing at the 11th round of the 2016 AMA Pro Motocross Championship after clinching the championship win.
Throughout the 2016 AMA Pro Motocross season, Bel-Ray aided Ken Roczen and Jason Anderson on their path to a series of dominant performances. After winning nine of the season’s 12 rounds, Roczen claimed the title of 2016 AMA Pro Motocross Champion, ending the season with an impeccable 86-point lead over his closest competitor. Fellow Bel-Ray sponsored rider, Jason Anderson of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing, was the team’s overall leading scorer, ending the season with 145 overall points to claim 14th place in the 450MX class.
In the FIM World Motocross Championship in Great Britain, Max Anstie and Max Nagl outperformed some of the world’s toughest competitors throughout the season. Anstie secured a victory Switzerland in moto one, and was determined to claim a second victory in moto two. He continued to fight until the end and ultimately secured a 1-1 finish. After consecutive victories, Anstie secured his fourth place overall finish in the MX2 class for the season.
During the eleventh round of the FIM World Motocross Championship, Nagl was able to put his struggles from moto one behind him heading into moto two, take the holeshot and securing the lead for the first six laps. Combining his second place finishes at MXGP Belgium and Great Britain, a season of consistent on-track performances and a victory at MXGP Czech Republic, Max Nagl scored himself a spot on the podium, finishing third overall in the top MXGP class for the season.
Outside of motocross, Bel-Ray riders continued to shine across the pond on the flat track in America. AMA Pro Flat Track racer, Jared Mees, fought tooth and nail all season for the championship title. Coming down to the final round of the season in Santa Rosa, Calif., Mees capped off the 2016 championship in dramatic fashion. While introducing a new bike to the series and giving fans a thrilling season finale, Mees never stopped pushing for first place, all the way through the final lap as he closed in on the lead. Through the cheers and flying dirt, Mees ultimately finished second in the series in a nail-biting conclusion.
After a successful year of cheering on sponsored riders throughout their respective championships, Bel-Ray looks forward to 2017 and will have more news on its sponsorships for the season in the near future.
