MotoAmerica: Beaubier Tops Practice 1 at COTA

Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha’s Cameron Beaubier topped the timesheets for the opening practice of the 2016 MotoAmerica season, heading the times from Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing’s Roger Hayden by a scant 0.181sec.
Third in the session went to former Moto2 World Champion Tony Elias. Elias, who is filling in for the injured Jake Lewis on the second Yoshimura Suzuki, finished the session 0760sec behind Beaubier.
Fourth went to Beaubier’s teammate Josh Hayes – 0.859sec from the top – with another Yamaha rider in Yamalube/Westby Racing’s Josh Day rounding out the top five, 1.662sec off Beaubier’s pace.
