BMW G 310 R sportbike on the way

Rumors out of India have BMW in the process of building faired variant of the new G310 R nakebike.
Reported by autoevolution.com, the new sportbike, codenamed U69, will use the G 310 R as a basis but will likely receive changes to ergonomics and some engine changes, including exhaust. BMW will be the ones developing the bike while actual construction will fall to TVS, BMW’s Indian partner and the firm largely responsible for the G 310 R.
The G 310 R is BMW’s first foray into the low-capacity/learner market, and is powered by a single-cylinder four-stroke pumping out 34hp and 20lb-ft. It’s also got inverted forks, ABS and four-piston brakes as standard, making it a good basis for a sportbike or even an adventure variant – like KTM is rumored to be doing with their 390 project – in the future.
