Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez finished the end-of-season Valencia test top of the time sheets, circulating faster than Jorge Lorenzo’s race time from last Sunday to set the benchmark at 1:31.060s.
Hot on the heels of Marquez was the impressive Maverick Vinales, just 0.103s behind in second place. Vinales was a star of the test, using his 2015-spec chassis to great effect at Valencia despite not having the seamless shift gearbox that both Honda and Yamaha posses. The 2015 MotoGP Rookie of The Year, Vinales completed 57 laps to best Marquez’s teammate Dani Pedrosa and his Suzuki teammate Aleix Espargaro, who will both have a new Suzuki GSX-RR to test at the next MotoGP test in Sepang next February.
The 2015 MotoGP World Champion, Movistar Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo, finished the test in fifth place, 0.222s behind Marquez after completing 48 laps today.
