Lorenzo Hammers Home Provisional Pole In Japan

Movistar Yamaha Jorge Lorenzo has put MotoGP championship leader Valentino Rossi firmly on notice after qualifying on provisional pole position in Free Practice 2 with the Italian languishing down in eighth, 0.823sec behind his teammate.
Lorenzo was in dominating form in Japan, taking top spot from Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa by 0.128s with Ducati Team’s Andrea Iannone third.
World Champion Marc Marquez is still suffering the effects of a mountain bike crash in which he broke fingers on his left hand and sits in seventh.
