Kawasaki Racing Team’s Tom Sykes took his third race win of the year, in perfect conditions at Misano, leading from flag-to-flag and finishing 3.613 seconds ahead of his eventual closest challenger, his own teammate Jonathan Rea.

The Ducati of Davide Giugliano was in second for most of the largely processional race but the battle for second became a late epic, with his Aruba.it Racing Ducati teammate Chaz Davies passing Giugliano and then Rea for a period, with his last gasp attempted pass in Rea giving him third—from 11th on the grid. Giugliano was fourth at the flag.

A late fight between Red Devils Aprilia Racing Team’s Leon Haslam and Aprilia Racing Team’s Max Biaggi went the way of Haslam, with Biaggi scoring sixth—12.3 seconds from Sykes after 21 intense laps.

BMW Motorrad Italia SBK Team’a Ayrton Badovini got the better of stand-in rider Michele Pirro on the Aruba.it Racing Ducati with Pata Honda teammates Sylvain Guintoli and Michael van der Mark rounding out the top 10.

Barni Racing Ducati’s Leandro Mercado held off Voltcom Crescent Suzuki’s Alex Lowes for 11th. MV Agusta Reparto Corse’s Leon Camier placed 13th. Haslam’s teammate Jordi Torres was an early faller.
