Three-time World Champion Troy Bayliss will have another go at World Superbike racing, riding for Aruba.it Ducati in the second round of the championship at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand on March 20-22.

Bayliss, who will turn 46 shortly after that second round, already competed alongside Chaz Davies at the opening round of Phillip Island in place of Davide Giugliano who was injured during the first day of testing, and will substitute for the Italian rider once again.

“It will be great to work with the team again,” Bayliss said via a team release. “Compared to the Phillip Island round—organized pretty much at the last minute—this time I’ve had the chance to train and prepare myself properly. I’m really motivated and feeling ready. I can’t wait to get back on track.”

As for the injured Giugliano, he continues to work on his recovery and still has to rest for another few weeks before getting back to training. The Italian hopes to return to action in time for the fifth round in the championship at Imola on May 8-10.

At the time of the release no decision had been made for Giugliano’s substitute for rounds three and four—Aragón on April 12 and Assen April 19.
