Day Three of the 89th FIM International Six Days Enduro in San Jaun, Argentina, is now in the books and it was a mixed bag for the American teams. The good news is that the US World Trophy Team is back into second place behind the French team, having placed four riders in today’s top 11 in the E2 division, and with Mike Brown finishing runner-up  in the E3 class. At the end of the day, the US squad jumped ahead of Australia, who is down to just three riders now, and the Spaniards, and sits just sixteen minutes and sixteen seconds behind France.

More good news is that the US Junior Trophy Team is leading the Junior Trophy division, thanks to outstanding performances by Justin Jones, Steward Baylor, Grant Baylor and Trevor Bollinger. Sweden sits just twenty-six seconds behind the US Junior team, with France in third. Individually, Jones was fifth best in the E2 class today.

The bad news for the Americans is that the US Women’s squad dropped from second to third with only Mandi Mastin still running at the end of the day, after team members Sarah Baldwin and Rachel Gutish suffered problems.

Individually, Taylor Robert turned in his best performance yet, winning two tests and finishing second in two others. However, the factory KTM rider was penalized nine minutes when he was unable to get his bike to start in between checks. After three days of racing, Robert sits sixth in the overall E3 standings.

Australia’s Toby Price recorded his second victory today in the E3 class. Putting his vast experience to use in the harsh terrain, USA’s Michael Brown placed second with Spain’s Ivan Cervantes finishing third.

Continuing to prove himself as the best performing rider in this year’s ISDE, Pierre-Alexandre Renet won the Enduro 2 category along with being fastest in the overall individual standings. Delivering his best performance of the week, Australia’s Joshua Strang chased Renet home for second, while USA’s Kailub Russell completed the top three.

Although crashing on more than one occasion, France’s Christophe Nambotin still managed to top the Enduro 1 class for the third time this week. Repeating their finishing order from day two, France’s Marc Bourgeois and Jeremy Tarroux placed second and third.
